Tech Entrepreneurs Association of Mumbai (TEAM) has congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his successful visit to the United States of America, unlocking the potential and growing the technology sector in India.

India’s technology sector has seen significant growth and is a key contributor to the country’s GDP and employment opportunities. The Indo-US partnership announcements made by the Prime Minister and US President Joe Biden are both historic in nature and tectonic in scale.

TEAM said these announcements will accelerate and give scale to India’s vision of a $1 trillion Digital Economy. The commitment from both the administrations to promote policies and adapt regulations to enable greater sharing and co-development will set the stage for the future of technology, the assocation said.

TEAM further said that the partnerships signed during the visit will shape the future of critical technologies such as OpenRAN wireless systems, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and high-performance computing.

Commenting on the same, a TEAM spokesperson said, “India is at the forefront of developing technology innovations and deploying the same to improve lives and livelihood. The Prime Minister’s visit is a landmark development in unlocking tech opportunities and advancement of India’s Techade.”

Home to over 15,000 startups in India, Maharashtra has been at the forefront of enabling policies for the technology sector. Mumbai alone comprises about 25 per cent of India’s unicorns. To propel this growth further, over 35 Mumbai tech startup founders joined forces to form TEAM in 2022.
