Profitable edtech unicorn Physics Wallah's co-founder Alakh Pandey has waived off fees for 51,000 underprivileged students for the academic year 2023-24.
The move is part of the company's Right to Education programme, aiming to support students from economically weaker sections of society. It covers various courses, including NEET, JEE, commerce, arts, and standard 9-12 coaching.
Right to education programme
According to a PTI report, The fee waiver is specifically designed under Physics Wallah's Right to Education programme. With this program, the company wants to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder a student's right to education.
Notably, the program will cover a wide range of courses to cater to the diverse educational needs of underprivileged students.
The Impact of the Waiver
The total cost of the fee waivers amounts to over Rs 17 crore, the PTI report said.
Alakh Pandey, the founder and CEO of Physics Wallah, said, "We aim to encourage them and provide hope that we stand by them, and financial constraints won't hinder their Right to Education."
