Reserve Bank of India Governor Sanjay Malhotra
The Reserve Bank of India has launched a new mobile application called 'RBIDATA', which is designed to make macroeconomic and financial statistics about the Indian economy easily accessible.
The app presents more than 11,000 different series of economic data and offers features such as time series charts, direct downloads, and user-friendly visuals.
According to the RBI, it aims to help researchers, students and the general public stay up-to-date with key economic trends, including inflation rates and GDP figures.
User-friendly access to economic aata
RBIDATA provides quick access to the Database on Indian Economy (DBIE) portal at https://data.rbi.org.in. The app lets users view graphs and charts for different time periods, and download data for further analysis.
Details about data sources, units of measurement, frequency and recent updates are displayed on the app, while additional notes guide users in interpreting the information. To help people find popular information quickly, there is a “Popular Reports” section that showcases frequently viewed economic reports.
Enhanced search and banking features
One of the main highlights of RBIDATA is its search function, which allows users to locate data directly from the home screen without having to browse through various sections.
The app also features a “Banking Outlet” section that helps users find banking facilities within a 20-kilometer radius of their location. In addition, the app offers a “SAARC Finance” link for those looking for data on SAARC member countries.
