Red Health, formerly known as StanPlus, has acquired a majority stake in Chennai-based TACT Academy for Clinical Training. The move aims to create a global center of excellence in allied healthcare, particularly in emergency medical services and pre-hospital care.
The newly formed partnership will be known as RED TACT, retaining TACT’s core identity while harnessing Red Health’s multi-city emergency response expertise and resources.
Simulation-based training focus
Founded in 2007 by critical care expert N. Ramakrishnan, TACT Academy is India’s first simulation-based healthcare training center. Through its merger with Red Health, the academy will continue to offer its existing curriculum, which focuses on hands-on, practical learning for healthcare professionals.
Along with that, the academy plans to introduce new programs, including a finishing school for healthcare graduates, bridge courses for fresh MBBS pass-outs, NABH training packages, and skill-based short-term certifications.
Expanding reach and services
Red Health, founded by Prabhdeep Singh in 2016, operates a fleet of more than 6,000 ambulances equipped to handle both critical and non-critical care in over 30 cities.
By joining forces with TACT, the company hopes to strengthen its workforce by ensuring consistent, high-quality training for paramedics, nurses, doctors, and other health workers.
RED TACT will extend its training presence beyond Chennai to key cities such as Hyderabad, Kolkata, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, targeting regions with growing demand for specialized healthcare and emergency services.
Digital learning and academic partnerships
The collaboration includes plans to integrate digital learning platforms that will make quality healthcare training available in both urban and rural areas.
RED TACT also aims to partner with universities to develop academic programs that blend theoretical knowledge with practical application.
With an emphasis on safety, research, and skill development, the goal is to produce job-ready professionals who can help bridge the gap between academia and the healthcare industry.
Red Health’s broader ambition is to establish a 911-like emergency response framework in India, improving rapid response times and raising the standard of care for patients.
RED.Health also aims to foster innovation and research in clinical training through the formation of a Medical Advisory Board comprising leaders from RED.Health, RED TACT, and other eminent healthcare professionals.
