US-based SaaS giant Freshworks announced on Tuesday that Murali Swaminathan has been appointed its new chief technology officer (CTO).
As CTO, Murali will be responsible for Freshworks’ technology roadmap and strategy, leading the company’s global engineering and architecture teams, according to the company's statement.
The role supports the company’s investment in talent and resources that will elevate our employee and customer experience solutions.
Murali joins the executive management team and will report to Chief Executive Officer and President Dennis Woodside.
Who is Murali Swaminathan?
Murali Swaminathan holds a master’s degree in Software Engineering Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a bachelor’s degree in electronics and instrumentation from Annamalai University in India.
He has over 30 years of experience in software engineering and management.
Prior to joining Freshworks, Murali worked at ServiceNow, where he served as Vice President of Engineering, overseeing the company’s market-leading IT Service Management and Strategic Portfolio Management portfolio of products that scale to work for large enterprises.
During his tenure at ServiceNow, He was instrumental in building the modern application architecture that underpins the company's IT Service Management and Strategic Portfolio Management products.
Murali's prior experience
Prior to ServiceNow, Murali served as Vice President of Engineering at Recommind (now OpenText). He also held several key positions at CA Technologies (now part of Broadcom Inc.), where he played a critical role in advancing the company's enterprise software solutions.
