Chennai-based Zoho Corporation, a SaaS giant known for its diverse portfolio, including ManageEngine, Zoho.com, TrainerCentral, and Qntrl, today unveiled its latest brand, Zakya.

Zoho said the new venture aims to revolutionize the retail sector by offering a state-of-the-art Point of Sale (POS) solution.

Zakya is designed to simplify operations for retail stores, enabling them to manage inventory, sales, and customer experiences seamlessly from a unified platform, the company said in a release.

What's the need of Zakya

Explaining the necessity, Jayagopal Theranikal, Chief Evangelist at Zakya, said, "As consumers shift towards online shopping, retailers are increasingly in need of digital solutions to remain competitive. However, the existing solutions in the market are either deficient in essential features required for daily operations or are outdated software that is complex, inflexible, and difficult to learn.

Zakya addresses this issue by providing an easy-to-use solution that can be quickly deployed, thus lowering the barrier for small businesses to adopt technology, she said.

What are the features of Zakya?

Zoho said Zakya's POS solution can be a game-changer for small and medium-sized businesses. It offers features like offline billing capability, support for 10 Indian languages, and a custom mobile app for online shopping and in-store pickups.

Its all-in-one admin console and integration with various third-party services, including payment solutions and shipment tracking, make it a comprehensive tool for businesses. Furthermore, Zakya ensures GST compliance and offers business intelligence insights, helping retailers make informed decisions, the company said.

The current landscape of the Indian retail market

The Indian retail market, poised to reach approximately $2 trillion by 2032, is ripe for digital transformation. Zakya's launch comes at a crucial time, with a survey revealing that 95% of retailers currently relying on manual billing express a desire to switch to modern POS solutions by 2029.

The survey also highlighted the demand for ease of use, cost-effectiveness, and mobile billing as the top features sought after by retailers.

Pricing

Zoho claims that Zakya is offering its services to 170 active stores across various Indian cities. The company offers a standard plan starting at Rs 649 per month, along with a 15-day free trial and a forever free version with essential features.
