Sarvam AI launches its first AI-powered smart glasses Kaze

Indian AI startup Sarvam AI has unveiled its first AI-powered smart glasses, Sarvam Kaze, at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi.

The startup showcased the glasses at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi.

Co-founder Pratyush Kumar announced the product on X, writing, “Launching Sarvam Kaze, our foray into getting our models into your hands with our devices, designed and built here in India!”

In follow-up posts, Kumar confirmed that Sarvam Kaze will debut in May 2026. “Designed in India, built in India, fitted with AI from India. All in your hands this May,” he said.

Sarvam said the glasses are engineered to listen, understand, respond and capture what the wearer sees. The startup claims the device shifts AI from a screen-based interface to something users can wear and interact with in the real world. Early images show a sleek eyewear form with visible cameras embedded in the frame, indicating support for audiovisual capture and voice-interacted AI. Full specifications and pricing have not yet been disclosed.

With Kaze, Sarvam joins a small group of AI startups globally attempting to combine foundation models with proprietary hardware. The move is notable because building devices is capital-intensive and operationally complex compared with offering software APIs. It requires supply chain coordination, manufacturing partnerships, hardware design capabilities and post-sales support.

The smart glasses category is currently dominated by global players such as Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta Vanguard. These devices, now available in India, offer AI-powered voice controls, built-in cameras and other interactive features. While Sarvam Kaze appears similar in form factor, the startup is positioning its product around its in-house AI stack rather than third-party systems.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi became the first person to try the device. Sarvam shared images of Modi wearing the black-colored glasses at the Bharat Mandapam venue, where he inaugurated the India AI Expo during the summit.

“The first person to try them? The Prime Minister,” Kumar wrote.
