Schneider Electric
In a move that underscores India's accelerating push toward clean energy, Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation, has announced a strategic partnership with Freyr Energy Services Pvt. Ltd., a homegrown rooftop solar provider.
The partnership will integrate its advanced digital and automation technologies with Freyr Energy's expertise in rooftop solar solutions.
Both the companies will focus on bringing smart, energy-efficient, and sustainable solutions to households across the country, aligning with India's national commitment to reduce carbon emissions by 33–35% from 2005 levels by 2030, the company said in a release.
Deploying the Wiser Smart Home system
At the core of the collaboration is the deployment of Schneider's Wiser Smart Home system, an intelligent platform that enables homeowners to monitor and optimize their energy consumption in real-time.
"Sustainability drives our innovation," said Sumati Sahgal, Vice President of Retail at Schneider Electric India. "This partnership with Freyr Energy is a step toward making sustainable living a practical reality for Indian homeowners."
The Wiser system allows homeowners to maximize renewable energy use, reduce dependence on conventional power sources, and lower electricity costs. By combining cutting-edge technology with a customer-centric approach, Schneider Electric and Freyr Energy aim to empower individuals to make informed decisions about their energy consumption, contributing to a more sustainable and energy-efficient future.
Freyr Energy's market presence
For Freyr Energy, which has built a nationwide presence with rooftop solar installations in over a dozen states, the partnership represents an evolution from solar project execution to offering a holistic home energy solution.
Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Hyderabad, the company provides end-to-end services, including consultation, design, engineering, and post-installation support, all accessible via its proprietary mobile application.
"This partnership allows us to go beyond traditional rooftop solar," said Saurabh Marda, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Freyr Energy. “By integrating Schneider's automation technology, customers gain real-time visibility into how their solar systems are performing and how energy is being used—ultimately delivering better savings and a more empowered experience."
Freyr Energy primarily operates in states such as Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh, and plans to scale further with this technology-first approach.
