Rang De, a peer-to-peer social investing platform, has partnered with Shark Tank India-featured Bakarmax, an animation and comics studio, to design entertaining, informative, animated ad films that generate awareness about social investing amongst younger audiences.

Rang De said the partnership aligns with their broader objective of expanding its social investor base (socially conscious lenders), especially among the young generation who share mutual concern towards underserved communities.

How the partnership will benefit Rang De?

Bakarmax, which reaches 80,000 people monthly across different platforms, will help Rang De accelerate its long-term goal of attracting one million social investors to its platform in the next three years.

Sukhada Chaudhary, VP - Community and Content of Rang De, said, “This collaboration is our attempt to reach a brand new audience. Through animation and storytelling, we are sure we can make the concept of social investing appealing. We want to reach a younger, socially-conscious audience, and these ad films are tailor-made for that purpose.”

Rang De disbursed over Rs 61 crore in loans

Since 2019, the startup said it has disbursed over Rs 61 crores in loans and managed more than 18,000 loans for rural entrepreneurs and students, with the help of over 8,700 social investors through its platform.

The partnership aims to use animation's creative appeal to broadly share and explain the advantages of social investing to a larger audience, it said.

“I am an absolute fan of Rang De, and when we approached the Rang De team with our idea - they were equally open. As the project progressed, the entire Bakarmax team fell in love with Rang De. After understanding what Rang De wanted and the audience in question, we researched and found unique data points about 'investors looking for new investment options' and how social investment 'reduces poverty on a national scale," said Sumit Kumar, Founder of Bakarmax, on the partnership

"With these insights, we got to writing and created animation magic. We gave this project everything so people seek Rang De and transform rural India through social investing. With these films - we believe we have done our bit, just like Rang De does every day," Sumit added.

Animated films to introduce social investing

The first video, centered around the theme "Naya Kya Hai" (What's New), features a dynamic female protagonist who is introduced to traditional investment avenues and eventually discovers ‘Social Investing’ as a new concept. The second video shows the protagonist investing in rural entrepreneurs and encourages viewers to do the same through the Rang De platform.

What does Rang De do?

Rang De is an Indian peer-to-peer social investing platform that enables users to invest in entrepreneurs and students from low-income communities across India. The startup leverages its digital platform to raise funds from social investors (lenders) and channels it to deserving individuals to enable their livelihood activity and education.

Through partnerships and creating borrower support systems, it ensures reliable loan repayments, aids in developing credit scores, and reduces risk for lenders.
