Kunal Bahl, co-founder of Snapdeal and Titan Capital, has become the newest shark on Shark Tank India, replacing Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal.
Bahl will make his debut in the upcoming Season 4 of the show. He joined the panel of investors that already includes OYO founder Ritesh Agarwal, Emcure Pharmaceuticals executive director Namita Thapar, boAt co-founder Aman Gupta, and People Group’s Anupam Mittal.
Kunal Bahl replaces Deepinder Goyal
This comes after Deepinder Goyal recently in an ET Startup Awards revealed that he would not return as a shark this season. The decision stems from Zomato's rival Swiggy signing a sponsorship deal with the show’s producers and demanding Goyal’s removal as part of the agreement.
"I just went there to set a different narrative, be real, and change how people perceive how a startup should be built," he explained.
Reflecting on his experience, Goyal added, "I felt it was my moral obligation to go there once... but I, unfortunately, can’t go back because Swiggy sponsored Shark Tank this time and kicked me out, at least that’s what I heard."
