Southwest Airlines, one of the leading carriers in the United States, will establish its Global Innovation Centre in Hyderabad, marking a significant addition to the city’s growing technology and aviation ecosystem.
The announcement was made during a meeting between Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and a delegation from Southwest Airlines at the state Secretariat.
The meeting was attended by Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, along with Lauren Woods, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Southwest Airlines; Tom Merritt, Chief Technology Officer; Jason Shyung, Head of Legal Counsel; and Sarthak Brahma from HEX Advisory Group.
Chief Minister Reddy welcomed the airline’s leadership and lauded their decision to set up the centre in Hyderabad, calling it a step that would strengthen the company’s global business strategy while contributing to the state’s growth.
He also outlined Telangana’s ambitious economic roadmap, which envisions transforming the state into a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047, under its “Telangana Rising 2047” vision.
