Swiggy appoints Amitesh Jha

Zomato rival Swiggy has appointed Amitesh Jha as the new CEO of its quick commerce arm, Swiggy Instamart, effective September 4, 2024. 

Jha, who brings over 20 years of experience in the e-commerce sector, will succeed Phani Kishan, the current CEO of Swiggy Instamart. 

Kishan will transition to a broader role within the company, focusing on Swiggy’s Central Growth unit. The leadership change is aimed at strengthening the company's position in the rapidly growing quick commerce market.

Jha’s extensive experience at Flipkart

Amitesh Jha joins Swiggy after a successful 14-year career at Flipkart, where he played a significant role in scaling key categories such as electronics, fashion, and large appliances.

He also oversaw Flipkart’s logistics arm, contributing to the company’s rapid growth across India. Jha’s extensive experience in e-commerce and supply chain management is expected to bolster Swiggy Instamart’s operations and competitiveness in the market.
