Swiggy Instamart appoints Sairam Krishnamurthy as COO amid rising competition

Food delivery major Swiggy's quick commerce arm Swiggy Instamart has appointed Sairam Krishnamurthy as the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO).

With this, Swiggy aims to bolster its Swiggy Instamart's leadership team amidst growing competition in the rapid delivery space.

Sairam will oversee the platform's operational units, including dark store operations, infrastructure, city growth, and expansion.

Sairam Krishnamurthy's experience

Sairam Krishnamurthy has over 18 years of extensive experience in leadership roles in the FMCG, consumer tech, and retail sectors.

Prior to joining Swiggy, he served as the COO of the supermarket business at More Retail and held the position of Chief Merchandising Officer.

His career also includes a significant tenure at Hindustan Unilever, where he was involved in sales, marketing, and innovation, and a key role at Ola Mobility as the head of India supply.

Strategic hires to strengthen leadership

Swiggy Instamart has recently made a series of strategic hires to strengthen its leadership team, including Himavant Srikrishna Kurnala as Senior Vice President of Product and Business, Aakash Bhotika as Vice President - Technical Advisor, Mayank Rajvaidya as Vice President of Fruits and Vegetables, and Manu Sasidharan as Associate Vice President of the FMCG category.
