Tata Group's Tata Technologies said it has signed a MoU with the Chhattisgarh government for 10 years as it aims to transform 36 government ITIs (Industrial Training Institutes) will into Industry 4.0 Technology Centers, with a total project cost of Rs 1188.36 crore.
According to the company's statement, The partnership aims to support projects with high social impact and complement the government's nation-building efforts through Tata Technologies' initiatives.
The company also said that the advanced Industry 4.0 Technology Centers will work to strengthen the technical skills of students and potential employees.
The belief is that by training individuals who are not only highly skilled in Industry 4.0 tools and technologies but also readily prepared for industrial deployments, these centers will boost Chhattisgarh's economic progress and overall development. The Chhattisgarh government has initiated various skill development programs to empower its diverse workforce and enhance the manufacturing and MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) industries in the state," the company said.
Additionally, It will also partner with 20 global industrial participants to offer six new trades and 23 new short-term courses that cater to the demands of Industry 4.0.
The company claims that the upgraded ITIs are expected to train more than 10,000 students annually, fostering skill development in various areas such as Industry 4.0, product design and development, product validation and virtual analysis, design for artists and artisans, additive manufacturing (3D printing), modern automotive maintenance repair and overhaul, battery-electric vehicle training, IoT and digital assets, process control and operations with HMI, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), advanced manufacturing and prototyping, including AR (Augmented Reality) industrial robotics, AI-driven virtual welding and painting, advanced plumbing, digital metering, agriculture and horticulture, and much more.
Addressing the collaboration, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel stated, "We are committed to nurturing the capability of Chhattisgarh's youth and accelerating the state's industrial growth and economic progress. Our strategic collaboration with Tata Technologies will empower the youth, enhance their employability by acquainting them with extensive Industry 4.0 technologies, and strengthen the state's industrial landscape through substantial investments in skilled human capital."
Tata Technologies' CEO and Managing Director, Mr. Warren Harris, expressed his delight at the partnership, emphasizing the significant step towards upskilling youth in Industry 4.0 technologies and creating a better future for the youth of Chhattisgarh.
