Tata Group-owned Tata Technologies Ltd. recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Department of Industries and Commerce, Tripura, to upgrade 19 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the state.
The five-year initiative aims to modernize technical education and create skilled professionals, aligning with the region's economic growth.
Project Details
The partnership, valued at Rs 95.65 crore excluding GST, will be executed in two phases. The project includes the introduction of six new long-term trades and 23 short-term courses designed to meet the evolving demands of the job market.
According to the company's statement, these courses will be implemented on a structured schedule to ensure seamless integration into the existing educational framework.
In addition to course updates, the project will focus on significant infrastructure development. The state government will build new facilities measuring 13,500 square feet at each ITI, providing advanced training environments to support the program's objectives.
The duration of the MoA is initially set for five years and nine months. However, the agreement includes provisions for an extension of up to five additional years, subject to revised costs and scope.
The Government of Tripura, as the awarding entity, seeks to align this upgrade with broader economic objectives.
Officials anticipate that modernized ITIs will improve employability among the state's youth, making Tripura a hub for technical excellence in the northeastern region.
