Indian activewear brand TechnoSport has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Odisha during the Odisha-Tex 2025 event.
As part of the agreement, the brand will invest Rs 100 crore over the next three years to set up a state-of-the-art activewear manufacturing facility in Odisha.
The initiative is expected to create employment for more than 1,000 workers, aligning with the state’s broader vision of industrial growth and inclusive development. Technosport’s upcoming factory will be situated within a world-class industrial estate, designed with plug-and-play infrastructure to support rapid operational scaling.
The estate is projected to generate over 20,000 direct jobs, enable exports exceeding $100 million, and contribute more than Rs 7,000 crore in domestic revenues.
Sunil Jhunjhunwala, Co-Founder & Managing Director, TechnoSport, said, “This investment in Odisha is more than a factory, it’s a blueprint for the future of Indian manufacturing. As demand for high-performance, affordable activewear accelerates across India and global markets, we’re building the infrastructure, talent, and ecosystem needed to lead that charge.”
Beyond direct employment, the estate will also feature a training center in collaboration with a local university, enabling workers to pursue technical education alongside their jobs, empowering them with degrees, upskilling, and career mobility.
The plug-and-play infrastructure from the government, will enable a ‘Smart Factory’, incorporating reasonable semi-automation and robust traceability for garment production. It will operate on renewable energy sources, with a target of employing over 80% women. Furthermore, all fabric waste generated will be sent for closed-loop recycling.
