Le Travenues Technology Limited, which operates under the brand name ixigo opened the fiscal year with robust momentum, reporting a 73% year-on-year surge in revenue from operations to Rs 314.5 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2025 (Q1FY26).

The traveltech firm’s Gross Transaction Value (GTV) rose 55% to Rs 4,644.7 crore during the same period, buoyed by rising demand in the flights and bus segments. Profit before tax, excluding exceptional items and associate losses, climbed 76% to Rs 28.7 crore. Net profit jumped 28% YoY to Rs 19 crore.

“Q1 FY26 is another strong quarter, with record revenue and profits across all our key verticals,” said Saurabh Devendra Singh, group CFO at ixigo. “The 54% increase in adjusted EBITDA and 76% growth in PBT demonstrate the strength of our operating model and disciplined execution.”

Demand spikes in flights and buses

Advertisment

ixigo’s performance was driven largely by a surge in bookings in its flight and bus segments, which saw GTV growth of 81% year-on-year. Train GTV rose by 30%. Revenue growth was accompanied by a 48% rise in contribution margin to Rs 128.1 crore, while EBITDA increased 69% year-on-year to Rs 32.5 crore. Adjusted EBITDA, which accounts for ESOP expenses and excludes other income, reached Rs 31.4 crore.

Rajnish Kumar, group co-CEO, and Aloke Bajpai, group CEO, attributed the performance to ixigo’s “tech-centric DNA,” cross-selling capabilities, and increased brand awareness.

Demographic shifts contributed significantly to growth. Train bookings by Gen Z users (ages 18–30) jumped 45%, led by urban centers like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Visakhapatnam and Pune. Bus bookings in the same age group rose 56%, with high growth in Indore, Lucknow and Nagpur.

Solo women travelers also emerged as a powerful segment. Train bookings by solo female users increased 123%, and women accounted for 27% of solo bus bookings.

AI-driven travel innovation

As part of its digital transformation, ixigo is ramping up investments in agentic AI to streamline operations and improve personalisation.

The company’s in-house voice assistant, TARA Voice, now resolves more than 60% of customer support queries for flights and hotels without human intervention. AI also powers marketing automation, allowing the company to cut campaign production costs to 0.1% of traditional budgets during events like its 18th Anniversary Sale.

Other AI-enabled features rolled out this quarter include:

  • An upgraded Price Lock tool, which now covers fare hikes of up to Rs 8,000 and locks fares for up to 14 days.

  • Visa Rejection Protection, which provides full refunds on cancellation fees for users who cancel travel due to visa denial.

  • ixigo Credit, offering no-cost EMIs and “book now, pay later” options through banking and NBFC tie-ups.

ixigo reported that it now delivers over 10,000 meals daily via Zoop, its F&B partner, having served over two million meals since October 2024 across more than 200 railway stations.

AbhiBus, the company’s intercity bus arm, also expanded globally through a partnership with Germany-based travel metasearch platform CheckMyBus, extending inventory visibility to international travelers.
