U.S. startup founder Tony Klor announced on X (formerly Twitter) that he has received a 5-year Indian visa, calling it a sign of India opening its doors to foreign blockchain and AI entrepreneurs.
“It’s official! India is opening its doors to foreign blockchain & AI builders. I’ve just been granted a girthy 5-year India visa,” Klor wrote on X, adding: “Trump says foreigners go kick rocks. Modi says welcome home bhai.”

Klor’s post included an image of his Indian visa, valid until September 2030 and allows multiple entries, with a maximum stay of 180 days per visit.
His comments referenced US President Donald Trump’s restrictive immigration policies, including steep H-1B visa fee hikes and tighter rules that limited opportunities for skilled foreign workers. It's worth noting that those measures had drawn criticism from the tech industry, which has long relied on Indian professionals for critical roles.
Netizen reactions

“yooo thats awesome need to renew mine soon as well since my 10 year visa is bout to expire. Will have to check this option out,” a user wrote.
“Deeply honest here, as someone who studies and works alongside many brilliant Indians in top U.S. universities: I truly believe India has some of the most intelligent minds in tech, AI, and engineering. If those talents focus on building and innovating within India, I can’t imagine the scale of progress. Within the next 10 years, I’m confident we’ll see at least 1 or 2 Indian companies among the global giants on this list,” another expressed.
