Adult content platform Ullu founder and CEO Vibhu Agarwal has turned his focus to mythology. He is launching a new mythological OTT service named Hari Om, set to debut in June 2024.
Unlike Ullu, which is known for its adult content, Hari Om will exclusively feature 'U' rated content suitable for all age groups.
The platform aims to provide a destination for experiencing Indian heritage, culture, and spirituality, catering to a global audience with a growing interest in these themes.
What content will Hari Om offer?
Hari Om will launch with a lineup of more than 20 mythological shows, including both long-format and short-format series.
The content will be designed for senior citizens, children, and young adults, featuring a mix of video and audio bhajans. Additionally, there will be animated content focused on mythology for younger viewers.
Notable titles include "Shri Tirupati Balaji," "Mata Saraswati," "Chaya Grah Rahu Ketu," "Jai Jagannath," "Kaikeyi Ke Ram," "Maa Lakshmi," and "Navgrah," featuring actors such as Sharad Malhotra, Rati Pandey, Yuktii Kapoor, Mrunal Jain, and Vishal Karwal.
"Religious shows will feature large-budget productions with sets that transport viewers back to the golden age," the company said.
Vibhu Agarwal highlights 'Hari Om' significance
Vibhu Agarwal emphasized the importance of knowing and respecting Indian roots, culture, tradition, and heritage.
“As Indians, it is essential for us to know our roots, culture, tradition, and heritage to develop a sense of pride and respect for it. Recognizing the demand amongst the senior citizens and younger audiences to explore our Indian mythology, we are delighted to announce this unique, clutter-breaking destination, bridging the existing gap," Agarwal said.
"Hari Om is designed for family audiences worldwide, with the belief that it will be embraced by viewers and serve as a source of enlightenment to various nationalities across the world," Agarwal added.
Agarwal's other ventures
Hari Om is the third streaming platform launched by Vibhu Agarwal, who also operates Ullu and Atrangii.
Ullu, primarily focused on adult content, is preparing for an initial public offering (IPO) and has faced scrutiny from various government bodies for its content.
Atrangii TV, launched in June 2022, shifted its operations entirely to OTT a year later.
Nivedita Basu, Senior Vice President Group at Atrangii, said, "At ‘Hari Om’, our focus is on producing untold mythological stories. These shows feature exceptional casts, immersive storytelling, and informative yet entertaining content, aiming to showcase to the world our rich religious and cultural heritage."
