Indian UPI payments giant PhonePe today announced the launch of the ‘Income Tax Payment’ feature on its app as it aims to allow taxpayers to pay self-assessment and advance tax.
To make this possible, The fintech giant has partnered with B2B payments service provider PayMate.
With this, Users can pay taxes using credit cards or UPI. Once the payment has been made, taxpayers will receive a Unique Transaction Reference (UTR) number as an acknowledgement within one working day. The challan for the tax payment will be available within two working days, the company said in a statement.
