The center, which is located in Hyderabad’s HITEC City, will serve as a strategic hub for digital and technology-led operations to support the company’s global network.

The US-based hospital operator said it plans to invest nearly $75 million in the facility by the end of 2025 and expand its workforce to 3,000 employees by the end of 2026. The Hyderabad center will focus on building capabilities across IT, supply chain, procurement, human resources, finance, and accounting.

The 400,000-square-foot facility, spread across four floors at the LEED-certified Sattva Knowledge Park campus, was inaugurated by Telangana’s minister for information technology and industries, D. Sridhar Babu, in the presence of Emily Duncan, senior vice president of HCA Healthcare’s global capability network, and Atul Kapoor, vice president and head of the Hyderabad center.

Babu described Hyderabad as a global ecosystem for healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and life sciences, with more than 800 pharma companies and several leading life sciences GCCs driving innovation.

“We are proud to welcome HCA Healthcare’s first Global Capability Center in India, a strong endorsement of Hyderabad’s leadership and a milestone that will further accelerate our journey as a global hub for healthcare and innovation,” he said.

HCA Healthcare executives said the GCC will play a central role in supporting the company’s mission of delivering high-quality patient care in the United States and the United Kingdom. “With exceptional talent and a culture built on innovation, we are focused on creating an environment that further enables HCA Healthcare to pursue its mission to care for and improve human life,” Duncan said.

The Hyderabad center marks HCA Healthcare’s entry into India’s growing GCC ecosystem, which has seen rapid expansion in recent years. US companies account for about 55% of GCCs in the country, and more than half of those in healthcare and life sciences are American-owned, employing over 300,000 professionals, according to consulting firm ANSR.

Founded in 1968, HCA Healthcare has pioneered new models of hospital care in the US, using its scale and research to improve clinical practices. Its studies have helped establish protocols to reduce ICU bloodstream infections and highlighted the risks of early elective deliveries.
