In a move that signals a significant shift in India's engineering education landscape, Vedam School of Technology has acquired AlgoPrep, an AI-powered learning platform founded by ex-Microsoft engineer Nishant Chahar and ex-Google engineer Subhesh Kumar.

Vedam said the acquisition is part of its mission to build the country's first AI-native undergraduate tech curriculum—preparing students for the jobs of 2029 and beyond.

What does Vedam do?

Vedam, which launched its flagship 4-year on-campus Computer Science [AI] program earlier this year, where a B.tech degree is offered from a recognized UGC-approved University, is positioning itself as a new-age alternative to the outdated traditional engineering model.

The undergrad tech school, which has garnered national attention for its hands-on, project-based approach, primarily preaches "Learn Tech by Building It." With AlgoPrep now integrated into its learning ecosystem, Vedam is doubling down on its AI-first education vision.

Leadership comments

"With AlgoPrep joining forces, we're embedding AI deeply into the learning journey," said Piyush Nangru, Co-Founder of Vedam School of Technology. "This is more than just an acquisition—it's a transformation in how Computer Science engineering is taught. We're building not just skilled coders, but confident, industry-ready engineers."

Founded by education industry veterans, Vedam offers students an intensive 4-year curriculum featuring 50+ real-world projects, 6-month paid internships, mentorship from tech leaders at MAANG companies, and a strong emphasis on building products from Day 1.

Each student receives a personal MacBook and access to India's first AI-powered academic ecosystem.

Deploying smart tools

The acquisition of AlgoPrep will now allow Vedam to deploy smart tools like AI doubt solvers, personalized code review engines, adaptive learning pathways, and mock interview assistants.

AlgoPrep, known for helping over 5,000 students land jobs at Google, Deloitte, Atlassian, and MakeMyTrip, brings a data-driven learning infrastructure that complements Vedam's existing strengths, the release notes.

"We built AlgoPrep to make AI-enabled learning scalable and accessible," said Nishant Chahar, Co-Founder of AlgoPrep. "With Vedam, we now have the platform and vision to impact thousands more students at a deeper level.”

Subhesh Kumar, also Co-Founder of AlgoPrep, added, "This isn't just a product integration. It's the start of a full-fledged AI-first curriculum that can set a new national standard for Computer Science education.”
