Vedanta Group, a leading conglomerate, has announced a strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) and Nasscom's Centre of Excellence (CoE) - IoT & AI. This partnership aims to drive the rapid adoption of digital technologies-led innovations by leveraging the technological expertise of startups.

Under the agreement, Vedanta Group's corporate innovation, accelerator, and ventures program, Vedanta Spark, will tap into the technologies developed by startups associated with MeitY-Nasscom CoE. This move is expected to revolutionize the conglomerate's operations and facilitate the implementation of cutting-edge solutions.

Priya Agarwal Hebbar, Chairperson of Hindustan Zinc Limited and Non-Executive Director of Vedanta Limited, expressed her enthusiasm about the collaboration. She highlighted that the engagement with Nasscom CoE would provide a unique ecosystem for innovative startups to demonstrate and develop their products. The primary objective of Vedanta Spark is to deliver accelerated value across its operations, focusing on emerging technologies that contribute to long-term environmental, social, and economic sustainability.

The partnership will explore the potential application of various emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Internet of Things (IoT), and Augmented Reality (AR)/Virtual Reality (VR), across different verticals within the Vedanta Group.

According to the joint statement, the Vedanta Spark program has already engaged with 80 startups, collaborating on more than 120 projects. The program aims to accelerate the growth of startups that leverage transformative and sustainable technologies to create large-scale impact. The collaboration with Nasscom CoE will further support Vedanta Spark in optimizing enterprise-level initiatives and processes.

Sanjeev Malhotra, the CEO of MeitY-Nasscom CoE, expressed his optimism about the partnership with Vedanta Spark. He believes that this collaboration will unlock a new wave of innovation and drive business growth while addressing the current and future needs of customers. The mining, oil, and gas sectors are expected to benefit from the development of cutting-edge technologies, leading to exciting use cases.
