Rohit Sandal
VerSe Innovation, the AI-driven parent company of DailyHunt and Josh, has named Rohit Sandal as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), a strategic move aimed at bolstering its global talent agenda and organisational culture.
Sandal, who brings more than two decades of HR leadership experience from stints at Freshworks, Lenovo, and Dell, will lead VerSe Innovation’s global people strategy, with a focus on building future-ready talent capabilities, strengthening culture, and enabling the company's continued innovation and international growth agenda.
The appointment follows the departure of Maya John, who served as Chief People Officer. During her tenure, John played a pivotal role in scaling the company’s workforce and embedding its cultural values amid a period of rapid expansion. She was also instrumental in onboarding her successor, helping ensure a smooth leadership transition.
“We are immensely grateful to Maya for her remarkable leadership and foundational contributions to VerSe’s people journey,” said Umang Bedi, co-founder of VerSe Innovation.
“As we enter a new phase of growth and global ambition, we are thrilled to welcome Rohit. His rich experience and deep understanding of scaling people functions will be instrumental in helping us build an organisation that is as innovative in its culture as it is in its technology,” Bedi added.
VerSe’s portfolio includes Dailyhunt Premium, Josh Audio Calling & Stories, NexVerse.ai, and VerSe Collab, platforms that leverage AI, machine learning, and deep learning to deliver personalised content and creator tools in multiple Indian languages.
It is backed by marquee investors including CPP Investments, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, Qatar Investment Authority, Carlyle Group, Goldman Sachs, Google, Microsoft, and Sequoia Capital India.
“I look forward to partnering with the founders and the broader leadership team to amplify our talent strategies and foster an environment where every individual can thrive and grow with impact,” Sandal said.
