Indian ecommerce giant Flipkart Group has announced the appointment of Dan Bartlett, Walmart Inc.'s Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs, to its board of directors, effective Nov. 21, 2024.
Bartlett, a seasoned expert in public relations, government affairs, and corporate strategy, brings decades of experience to the Indian e-commerce giant's leadership.
A seasoned leader
At Walmart, Bartlett oversees Corporate Affairs, leading public policy initiatives, sustainability efforts, and managing the development of the company's new headquarters in Bentonville, Ark.
His extensive career also includes key roles at Hill+Knowlton Strategies and Public Strategies, Inc. Bartlett previously served in U.S. public service, advising President George W. Bush as a counselor in the White House.

Strengthening Walmart-Flipkart ties
Walmart, which owns an 80.8% stake in Flipkart, has relied on Bartlett’s expertise since investing in the Indian company in 2018.

Founded in 2007, Flipkart is one of India’s largest e-commerce platforms, boasting over 500 million registered users and an extensive ecosystem that includes Myntra, Cleartrip, and Shopsy.
