WhiteHat Jr, a prominent live one-on-one online learning platform, has been appointed as the Skill India Mission's training partner by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), India's main facilitator of skill development and vocational training for India's young.

WhiteHat Jr will considerably increase the talent pool of qualified coders to teach coding to students across the country as a result of this collaboration. Around 12,500 coding trainers will be trained in three years, the company stated.

WhiteHat Jr is an Indian education technology startup and online tutoring company that teaches kids coding through one-on-one live video classes. It was founded by Karan Bajaj in 2018 and is aimed at youngsters aged 6 to 14 in nations such as India and the United States. BYJU'S purchased WhiteHat Jr for US$300 million in 2020. Customers can also take AI classes, according to the company.

NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation) is in charge of implementing projects aimed at equipping Indian youths with marketable skills. Coding, Automation, Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Robotics are all experiencing a boom in demand for trained professionals. The development of vocational education and digital / IT-related skills in schools is highlighted in the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The National Skill Development Corporation, which is run by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, is a one-of-a-kind public-private partnership that intends to catalyze the development of a high-quality vocational training ecosystem in India.

Through its association with 800+ training partners and 11,000+ training facilities distributed across 700 districts across the country, NSDC has trained over 2.5 crore people since its start in 2010.

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has established 36 Sector Skill Councils and is implementing the government's flagship skill development schemes, such as the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK), and the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS), among others.

Over the course of two rounds of investment, WhiteHat Education Technology has raised $11.3 million. Their most recent round of fundraising was a Series A round on September 9, 2019.
Three investors have backed WhiteHat Education Technology. The most recent investors include Omidyar Network and Owl Ventures.
