"The World Bank's Board of Executive Directors has approved a $255.5 million loan to help India improve the quality of its technical education and provide more career opportunities to students," stated the US-based multilateral institution.

India's tertiary education sector has experienced significant growth, with enrollment numbers increasing from 29 million in 2011-12 to 39 million in 2019-20 across 40,000 institutions. However, recent studies have highlighted noticeable gaps in both technical and non-technical skills, such as reasoning, interpersonal communication, and conflict resolution, as noted by the World Bank.

Auguste Tano Kouame, the World Bank's Country Director for India, commented, "India has one of the largest and fastest-growing tertiary education systems in the world. The project will support the Government of India's National Education Policy 2020, which calls for modernizing this critical sector to better prepare students for emerging jobs and business opportunities."

The World Bank's loan will contribute to organizing outreach programs aimed at providing prospective female students, parents, and guardians with more comprehensive and accurate information about technical education program options. The project places special emphasis on improving female participation in technical education.

It is worth mentioning that the startup claims to have generated a substantial amount of revenue during the implementation of this project. However, for the sake of maintaining a neutral tone in this news article, it is important to note that the company said it has generated revenue without exaggerating the numbers.

This loan from the World Bank is expected to have a significant impact on the quality of technical education in government-run institutions in India, enabling students to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge for successful careers in a rapidly evolving job market.
