Billionaire Elon Musk-owned X (previously Twitter) is gearing up to challenge the Microsoft-owned professional networking platform, LinkedIn, as it has launched a new 'Job Hiring' feature.
The newly introduced feature will enable verified organizations to post job listings on their profiles. The company stated that this feature aims to assist concerned companies in finding suitable candidates for job roles showcased on X Hiring Beta.
Announcing the feature, X, in a tweet wrote, "Unlock early access to the X Hiring Beta — exclusively for Verified Organizations. Feature your most critical roles and organically reach millions of relevant candidates."

“Sign up for early access to X Hiring, currently available for Verified Organizations. If eligible, we'll enable the Hiring features on your account," the company wrote on its website.
'X Verified Organizations' is a premium subscription feature that X launched earlier in April this year. With Verified Organizations, companies receive a distinctive blue tick, along with a square profile name, to better identify an authentic organization page.
At present, X charges a monthly fee of $1,000 (around Rs 82,300) for the Verified Organizations subscription.
According to reports, Elon Musk's company will charge $1,000 or Rs 82,610 from verified organizations to share job opportunities on their X profiles.
What observers say about this feature
The newly launched feature is a crucial step towards diversifying the revenue streams for the company. Prior to its acquisition, Twitter (now X) heavily relied on ad revenues.
In 2022, Twitter generated 4.73 billion U.S. dollars in advertising revenue. This figure is expected to drop to 2.7 billion U.S. dollars by 2027, according to a Statista report.
Needless to say, X isn't the only one that is diversifying its revenue streams. Social media giant Meta, which owns Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook, also launched a paid subscription feature called 'Meta Verified' that offers a blue tick mark to eligible profiles.
At present, Meta Verified costs Rs 699 per month for iOS and Android users.
