Zerodha-backed Rainmatter Investments has acquired a 51% stake in digital pension platform PensionBox for $2 million through a mix of primary and secondary transactions, according to media reports.
The transaction gives Rainmatter majority control in the Bengaluru-based startup and marks a full exit for early investors including 100X.VC, SAT Industries, Keynote Capital, LetsVenture and a group of angel investors.
Founder Kuldeep Parashar confirmed the deal and said the fresh capital, along with earlier funding, will help the company scale operations over the next one to two years. He declined to disclose the valuation.
Founded in 2021 by brothers Kuldeep Parashar and Shivam Parashar, PensionBox is a Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority-regulated digital platform that enables individuals and businesses to manage National Pension System accounts.
The platform offers instant account opening, investment tracking, systematic investment plan contributions and automated Corporate NPS solutions. It positions itself as a faster and more efficient alternative to traditional pension processes.
Following the transaction, the founders will retain a combined 48% stake in the company.
