Akriti Chopra, the Co-founder and Chief People Officer (CPO) of Zomato, has resigned from the food delivery giant, effective September 27, 2024.

The Deepinder Goyal-led company informed about her resignation in an exchange filing.

"Pursuant to Regulation 30 of SEBI Listing Regulations, we would like to inform that Ms. Akriti Chopra, CoFounder & Chief People Officer designated as Senior Management Personnel (“SMP”), has tendered her resignation w.e.f. September 27, 2024," the company wrote.

Akriti Chopra, the Chartered Accountant, joined Zomato in November 2011, starting as a Senior Manager of Finance & Operations. Over the years, she rose through the ranks, serving in key roles such as VP of Finance & Operations and CFO.

In October 2020, she transitioned into the role of Head of People Development, where she oversaw the growth and well-being of Zomato’s workforce. Eventually, Akriti became the Co-founder and Chief People Officer (CPO) in June 2021, playing a pivotal role in shaping the company’s culture and employee relations.

After nearly 13 years with the company, her resignation marks the end of a long and impactful journey, leaving behind a legacy of leadership in both finance and people operations at Zomato.

Why did Akriti Chopra resign from Zomato?

According to Zomato, Akriti Chopra resigned to pursue other interests outside the company.

"It's been an incredibly enriching journey over the past 13 years. Thank you for everything. I'm always a call away:)" Chopra wrote in an email to CEO Deepinder Goyal.
