It's worth noting that Blinkit was already delivering iPhones since 2022 and had added other electronic items like laptops, printers and monitors to its platform earlier this year.
The company first hosted iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro. In 2023, it tied up with Apple premium reseller Unicorn to start offering iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.
Blinkit wasn't the only platform delivering iPhones—Zepto and BigBasket also expanded their services beyond traditional groceries to offer the iPhone 16 last year.
Earlier this year, Blinkit partnered with China's Xiaomi and Nokia to deliver their phones to customers in parts of Delhi NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
These quick commerce companies have also become a challenge for leading e-commerce marketplaces—Amazon India and Walmart-owned Flipkart—by offering rapid delivery of electronic items.
While groceries continue to remain the backbone of quick commerce majors in the Indian market, electronics have emerged as one of the fastest-growing categories, according to Datum Intelligence.
