Lanstitut co-founders - Khubaib Abdul Salam, Abdul Vajid K, Murshid Ibinu Rahman, and Yasin Bin Saleem
Lanstitut emerged in 2022 with a clear goal in mind: to bridge the gap between talented healthcare professionals in India and the abundant opportunities available abroad.
Established by Khubaib Abdul Salam, Abdul Vajid K, Murshid Ibinu Rahman, and Yasin Bin Saleem, the founding team had personally witnessed the struggles that nurses and other healthcare workers endured—underpayment, extended hours, and limited career growth.
They believed there was a better way to align India’s workforce with global needs. As one of the founders explained, “Lanstitut was born to bridge that gap by equipping these professionals with the tools they need—language, skills, and a clear pathway to success abroad.”
This notion set the tone for Lanstitut’s commitment to experiential language learning and comprehensive employability solutions.
Recognising the growing demand
The team’s initial focus on language training in Delhi quickly expanded when they realised the scale of global demand for healthcare workers. There was a pressing need for platforms that could offer end-to-end services, combining language proficiency with employability guidance and actual job placements overseas.
By taking a “one-stop solution” approach, Lanstitut set out to connect skilled professionals with international opportunities in a streamlined, transparent manner. The startup’s aim was never just to help people find jobs; but to transform careers and open up a pathway to genuinely better lives.
Expanding beyond Delhi
After laying the foundation in Delhi, Lanstitut moved into Kerala and Bengaluru. This expansion was no accident. The team saw an alignment between the skill set in these regions—particularly among healthcare professionals—and the requirements of foreign healthcare institutions.
Although the move to these regions came with complexities, such as diverse cultural and linguistic landscapes, Lanstitut overcame these hurdles by forging partnerships with local institutions. The commitment to respecting native languages and customs, combined with a track record of delivering tangible results, helped Lanstitut cultivate trust and establish a solid regional presence.
Tackling diversity and building trust
Building a brand across different parts of India turned into both a challenge and an opportunity. The founders understood that trust would be critical to their success, especially in communities where skepticism of new or unfamiliar services can be high.
Emphasising transparency and local adaptation helped them connect with students and professionals in a meaningful way. As one founder noted, “We overcame this by forming partnerships with local institutions and adopting a vernacular approach, ensuring our programs connected with students in their native languages.”
Over time, their dedication to genuine engagement built a reputation that allowed Lanstitut to grow even further.
The guiding philosophy at Lanstitut has its roots in the founders’ own academic journeys. Having graduated and pursued postgraduation in language studies at the University of Delhi, they believe language is more than mere communication—it is a tool for connection and transformation. This perspective shapes Lanstitut’s ethos, inspiring them to help individuals break down linguistic barriers and overcome cultural differences.
By integrating cultural fluency into their programs, Lanstitut students emerge not just as skilled speakers of a language but also as professionals equipped to adapt and thrive abroad.
Creating India’s first full-stack employability platform
Positioning Lanstitut as India’s first full-stack employability platform for overseas placements was both a bold statement and a calculated strategy. Rather than specialising only in language training or only in placement services, they engineered a comprehensive approach that includes language preparation, skill development, certification assistance, and actual job recruitment.
This structure fundamentally changed the trajectory of many healthcare professionals, offering them a true chance to move from dead-end careers into positions with global potential.
“It’s transformational,” one of the founders said. “For many, it’s the difference between a stagnant career and a thriving one.”
Supporting healthcare professionals
A distinctive aspect of Lanstitut’s model is the deep focus on healthcare recruitment. They understood that nurses, in particular, faced a massive gap between the demands of domestic healthcare settings and the more lucrative, growth-oriented positions available overseas.
Lanstitut’s interventions have empowered nurses to break away from cycles of underpayment, take on international roles as registered nurses, and secure a stable, future-ready livelihood. By aligning their programs with international certification standards, language requirements, and cultural norms, Lanstitut ensures that each nurse they train is fully prepared for a seamless transition into their new environment.
Tech-integrated services and transparent processes
Lanstitut’s approach also leverages technology to simplify processes for both job seekers and employers. While many organisations offer one piece of the puzzle—be it language classes or job listings—Lanstitut unifies these elements, making the entire process of upskilling and placement more transparent. Candidates can track their progress, employers have insights into the skills and qualifications of incoming applicants, and everyone benefits from streamlined communication.
A Germany-first strategy and beyond
Germany stands out as the primary market Lanstitut is targeting for its healthcare recruitment drive. The country’s demand for skilled healthcare professionals aligns with Lanstitut’s mission, offering a clear path for Indian nurses to step into roles as registered nurses abroad.
While the current focus remains on Germany, the startup plans to replicate its success in other countries facing similar challenges.
