A shocking incident occurred in Bengaluru where a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by a Rapido auto driver and then thrown out of a moving vehicle.
The incident was shared on social media by one of the woman's friends, Ankur Bagchi, who wrote, "One of my friends got sexually assaulted last night by a Rapido auto driver. She was touched inappropriately, and when she pushed back, she was thrown out of a moving auto."
"She reached out to Rapido to resolve this, and they said sorry, we don't store auto driver details, so it's not our problem," he wrote.
Following this, Bengaluru City Police replied and asked the area details of the incident along with the contact number.
Following the social media outcry, an FIR was filed against the driver. Rapido, after conducting an internal search, confirmed that the driver was registered with them.
They located the driver and took him to the police station. The driver denied the incident, but the police have registered an FIR and are investigating the matter.
Rapido stated that the 'auto ride' in question did not occur on their platform but took action as a responsible company.
