Many of us have been wondering what Zerodha's valuation could be. Given the amount of profit these Kamath brothers generate.
Given the valuation that loss-making companies like Paytm had before going public, one might value Zerodha, which is profitable, much higher than those startups that are operating at a loss.
Earlier, several media reports claimed that Zerodha, founded by the Kamath brothers, is valued at Rs 50,000 crore or 1 lakh crore. Some even claimed that Zerodha is valued at Rs 2 lakh crore.
Busting the valuation speculation, Zerodha Co-founder & CEO Nithin Kamath in a tweet said the company is valued at Rs 30,000 crore and not Rs 1-2 lakh crore that media houses were claiming.
In a tweet, Nithin wrote, "Every time our financials are out, there is a lot of speculation about Zerodha's valuation but most assumptions are way higher than reality."
"If 10 to 15% is the long-term growth, we value ourselves in the range of 10 to 15 times our earnings (PAT)," he added.
