Delhi journalist meets girl on Bumble; ends up losing Rs 15,000 on his first date

In a recent incident in Delhi, a journalist named Archit Gupta fell victim to a scam on his first date arranged through the dating app Bumble.

The event took place at The Race Lounge and Bar in Rajouri Garden. Gupta, who was meeting a girl he connected with on Bumble, ended up paying a hefty bill of Rs 15,886 for their date.

The bill included charges for a hookah, multiple glasses of wine, a vodka shot, chicken tikka, and a water bottle. Gupta, who had only ordered a Red Bull, was shocked at the bill amount.

Despite his disbelief, he paid the bill, which involved his card being tapped four times due to a glitchy machine. After a brief visit to the restroom, he returned to find both the bill and his date missing.

He highlighted that such scams are becoming increasingly common in many cafes and clubs around Rajouri Garden.
