Google parent Alphabet lays off hundreds of employees from its global recruiting team

Google is again conducting layoffs in its parent company, affecting hundreds of employees from the global recruiting team.

Google said it will help the impacted employees search for roles within the company or elsewhere.

In January 2023, Google announced the biggest round of layoffs, affecting nearly 12,000 from multiple departments.

This comes amid Google pushing focusing on building its own AI to compete with Microsoft-backed OpenAI

Google is also an investor in Anthropic, another AI startup, that is the answer to the popular ChatGPT built by OpenAI
