Cashify, India's leading e-commerce marketplace for old electronic gadgets, today said it has appointed National Award-winning Bollywood actor RajKummar Rao as its first brand ambassador to promote its products and services through both offline and online channels.

As the actor personifies the brand ethos of dependability, responsiveness, approachability, and dynamic personality, the partnership is expected to give a strong face to the brand's philosophy, the startup said in a statement.

With this, Kumar will promote the products exclusively for the smartphone buyback category across digital media platforms through campaigns and promotional activities, the statement added.

The announcement comes two weeks after it acquired omnichannel platform Unishop for an undisclosed sum.

Cashify, founded by Manocha, Nakul Kumar, and Amit Sethi, is a re-commerce marketplace that provides an online platform for selling old or used electronic gadgets, primarily smartphones, but also laptops, tablets, desktop computers, and gaming consoles.

In seven years, the company, which began in 2013, has grown to more than 1,500 serviceable locations. Cashify, which has over 2 million customers, is also an exclusive buyback partner for Apple, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Vivo, Oppo, HP, Samsung, and Dell in India.
