Cloud kitchen unicorn Rebel Foods has entered the 15-minute food delivery market with “QuickiES,” a standalone app promising ultra-fast deliveries to compete directly with rivals like Zomato and Swiggy.
The launch was announced by EatSure CEO Sagar Kochhar, who shared on LinkedIn: “Love at First Bite! Introducing QuickiES – The World’s First 15MinsOrFree Quick Food Delivery App!”
Rebel Foods' brands
Founded in 2011 by Jaydeep Barman and Kallol Banerjee, Rebel Foods began as a delivery-only brand under the name Faasos. Since then, it has expanded into multiple quick-service restaurant (QSR) lines, including Behrouz Biryani, Mandarin Oak, Oven Story Pizza, Sweet Truth, LunchBox, The Good Bowl, Firangi Bake, The Biryani Life and Wendy’s.
The company claims to that it operates more than 450 cloud kitchens in over 75 Indian cities and across markets in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and the United Kingdom.
Targeting select pin codes in Mumbai
With QuickiES, Rebel Foods is targeting select pin codes in Mumbai during the pilot phase, delivering items from 45-plus brands. Users can order not only from familiar QSR favorites like Faasos and Wendy’s, but also from a new cafe-style snack menu featuring poha, idli, medu vada, puffs and Maggi.
This approach, according to the company, aims to diversify the offerings, catering to a growing cohort of customers looking for swift meal options throughout the day.
Rebel Foods' financial performance
Financially, Rebel Foods posted revenue from operations of Rs 1,420 crore for the year ending March 2024, while net losses narrowed by more than 42% to Rs 378 crore during that same period.
The venture capital–backed startup, which has raised $773 million, counts major names such as KKR, Temasek, Lightbox and Evolvence among its investors.
Reports suggest Rebel Foods may be heading toward an initial public offering within 12 to 18 months.
The 15-minute delivery arena has grown increasingly competitive, with leading platforms introducing standalone apps or in-app features to meet rising consumer demand for near-instant turnaround. Zomato-owned Blinkit recently launched “Bistro,” and Swiggy offers “SNACC,” each providing 10- to 15-minute delivery.
Zepto, which popularized ultra-fast grocery deliveries, now offers a similar service called Zepto Cafe. Emerging platforms like Swish, Magicpin and Zing are also making inroads, driven by India’s accelerating quick-delivery trend.
