Fintech firm Paytm launches MahaKumbh Soundbox; here’s what you need to know

Noida-based fintech major Paytm has introduced its new Made-in-India MahaKumbh Soundbox, a 4G-enabled device that aims to help merchants across the country receive instant payment alerts through a built-in digital screen.

The launch took place at the Startup Mahakumbh event, where Paytm Founder and CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma emphasized the company's commitment to empowering small businesses with seamless digital transactions.

Made in India with enhanced features  

The MahaKumbh Soundbox, which takes its name from the grand Indian festival that unites people from all walks of life, consolidates multiple benefits into one device. It provides real-time transaction updates, total collections, and device status. Merchants can see payments instantly on the digital screen while continuing to receive audio alerts.

According to the company, the device features a 3-watt speaker that delivers clear voice confirmations, enabling merchants to instantly verify payments and reduce errors. It supports 11 languages and offers a long-lasting 10-day battery.

"With our new Made-in-India Display Soundbox, we are taking it a step further to help our merchant partners track transactions effortlessly and manage their business with confidence," Paytm CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma said.
