The expectations of PUBG Mobile fans should take a break now as the government has stated that the IT Ministry has not granted permission for PUBG Mobile India to relaunch in the country.
The RTI was filed by two separate organizations --- one is from MediaNama and another one was from GEM Esports.
In response to the RTI filed by both these organizations, the Ministry stated that it does not grant permission for starting any websites / mobile Apps/services. Accordingly, it has not granted permission to PUBG / PUBG mobile India."
Here's what filed in RTI (Right To Information):
- Whether PUBG Corporation has sought permission from the ministry for a re-launch of PUBG Mobile.
- Whether either company sought permission for a launch of a modified version called PUBG Mobile India. If so, whether this request was granted.
- List of conditions placed before Krafton/PUBG Corp. by MEITY to approve the aforementioned application.
- Copy of physical correspondence Krafton/PUBG Corp. concerning user safety and any other associated issues with PUBG Mobile India application.
According to the official statement by the ministry, it looks like the game is very unlikely to be launch in the country in the next year or so.

Earlier it was reported that the PUBG Corporation executives are running the government officials for a meeting but they are yet to get an appointment from the government side.
Last Month, IndianStartupNews reported that PUBG Corporation has officially registered its Indian subsidiary company named PUBG India Pvt. Ltd. to faster the process of relaunching the game. Although that news has not confirmed the relaunch of the game in the country.
Later after a week, InsideEsports sources reported that the government has not granted permission to resume operations in the country.
“Any banned entity can’t operate just by floating a new company. This even TikTok or anyone else can do. They will have to get permissions from MEITY to operate once again in India."
Allowing PUBG Mobile India to relaunch would mean any other banned entity can also rebrand their app and seek approval from the government for relaunch in the country.
Following the imposed ban in India, The Afghanistan Telecommunications Regulatory Authority(ATRA) has also stated that the government will temporarily impose a ban on PUBG Mobile.
