The expectations of PUBG Mobile fans are likely to take a break, as the government is not giving any relief to PUBG Mobile to make its comeback in India anytime soon.

PUBG Mobile, which was banned in India along with several other Chinese apps in earlier September, unlikely to get any relief as the ministry has not made any change in that stance at this stage, MeitY sources told Insidesport.

The government has not granted any permission to PUBG Mobile or PUBG India to resume operations in the country, sources added.

Further, Ministry sources said, Breaking the partnership with Tencent Games or establishing a new entity in the country isn't enough for the relaunch of the game.

"Any banned entity can’t operate just by floating a new company. This even TikTok or anyone else can do. They will have to get permissions from MEITY to operate once again in India."

Earlier this week, IndianStartupNews reported that PUBG India had registered itself as a private entity named PUBG India Private Limited to faster the process of granting permission from the ministry. But it seems like the government is still not considering to revoke the PUBG ban in the country.

On September 2, 2020, The Indian government banned PUBG Mobile among 117 additional Chinese applications in the interest of data security of the users under Section 69A of the Indian IT act.

Later after a week, PUBG Corporation said in a press release that will break the partnership with Tencent for PUBG Mobile India.

Since then, PUBG Mobile is trying hard to make its comeback in the country as a large portion of the audience is from India. Meanwhile, PUBG Mobile India's website says "Coming Soon".
