Zepto Pass membership program

India's fastest quick commerce unicorn Zepto is testing the Zepto Pass membership program to improve user retention and enhance shopping experience.

The program offers unlimited free deliveries for orders over Rs 99 and discounts of up to 20% on purchases exceeding Rs 299.

The program, which starts at an introductory price of Rs 19 per month, is aimed at making daily shopping more convenient and more affordable for users in metropolitan areas like Delhi and Kolkata.

Why Zepto Pass?

The development is part of Zepto's strategy to enhance customer loyalty and transform the shopping journey into something beyond the ordinary. The program starts with a subscription fee beginning at Rs 99 per month after the introductory offer.

It is tailored to cater to a wide range of customers, ensuring that the benefits are both significant and accessible. Zepto aims to continuously expand the program by adding more benefits and adapting to the evolving needs and preferences of its users, according to the company.

How is Zepto Pass different from others?

Zepto's entry into the membership arena is a deliberate effort to capture a larger share of the quick commerce market, currently dominated by fierce competition and rapid innovation.

By offering a compelling mix of convenience and cost-effectiveness, Zepto Pass positions itself against established players like Swiggy's One membership and BigBasket's bbstar plan.

What's next for Zepto?

Beyond immediate benefits like increased user engagement and retention, the launch of Zepto Pass is part of Zepto's broader ambitions, including a potential initial public offering (IPO) by early 2025.

The Mumbai-based quick commerce platform witnessed a significant 14-fold growth in its revenue, reaching Rs 2,024 crore in FY23, up from Rs 142.36 crore in FY22. However, this growth also came with a surge in losses, which increased more than three-fold, from Rs 390 crore in FY22 to Rs 1,272 crore in FY23.
