The online game streaming platform Rooter has partnered with Jio Set Top Box to become the first app in its category to be featured on the JioStore ecosystem.
According to the company's statement, The integration will bring the opportunity for the streaming platform to connect with approximately 8 million JioFiber subscribers nationwide, allowing them easy access to a vast collection of curated gaming and esports content on their television screens via the JioSTB, all free of charge.
JioSTB, which is offered at no cost with JioFiber subscriptions, has rapidly garnered 50% of the home broadband market since its launch in September of the previous year.
The service has also evolved into a comprehensive content hub, offering a wide range of popular categories such as Entertainment, Kids, Lifestyle, Sports, and Food. As of January 2023, Jio Set-Top Box users were engaged with the platform for an average of over 6 hours per day.
On the other hand, Rooter, which competes with other streaming platforms like Loco, boasts a current user base of over 60 million active and engaged users, with more than 1 million creators, including renowned esports teams and gaming content creators, who share their content in over 10 Indian languages.
Speaking about the association, Dipesh Agarwal, Co-founder and COO, Rooter, said, “As one of India’s fastest-growing broadband services, JioFiber has captured a significant share of the domestic home broadband market and is driving data and content consumption across the country.
