Zomato begins turning delivery bags into Ad spaces

Food delivery giant Zomato has begun experimenting with a new revenue stream by converting its delivery bags into mobile advertising billboards in partnership with CARS24.

Prachi Sharma, who leads content and creative communication at CARS24, confirmed the collaboration in a LinkedIn post on Friday, describing it as a marketing experiment designed to explore “how everyday objects can double up as brand surfaces.”

She said thousands of Zomato riders across Bengaluru are part of the pilot, which aims to take “the brand where the city already moves.”

“This is an experiment. We are testing it in for now and will be learning soon,” Sharma wrote. “This time, it’s the delivery bag. Next time, it could be something entirely different.”

IndianStartupNews was the first to report on September 23, 2025 that Zomato was planning to monetize its delivery fleet by turning riders’ uniforms and bags into advertising spaces.

If the pilot proves successful, it could be a game changer for Zomato, which has more than 509,000 delivery partners completing over 2.5 million food orders daily. Its quick commerce arm, Blinkit, delivers around 2.2 million orders each day.

Additionally, it could generate extra income for Zomato as it continues to widen its lead over Swiggy, which continues to face major losses.
