Indian automotive giant Tata Motors reported a slight decrease in its total sales for both domestic and international markets, with sales dropping from 78,843 units in August 2022 to 78,010 units in August 2023.
The company's domestic sales dropped marginally from 76,479 in August 2022 to 76,261 units sold in August 2023, the company informed in an exchange filing.
Sales of passenger vehicles, including electric vehicles, also fell by 3% from 47,351 in August 2022 to 45,933 units sold in August 2023. However, the automotive giant maintained the sales growth in commercial vehicles. Sales of commercial vehicles in August 2023 stood at 32,077, a 1.9% increase compared with August 2022, where it sold 31,492 units.
Domestic sales of MH&ICV in August 2023, including trucks and buses, stood at 13,306 units, compared to 12,069 units in August 2022. Total sales for MH&ICV Domestic & International Business in August 2023, including trucks and buses, stood at 13,816 units compared to 12,846 units in August 2022.
In Q1 of FY24, Tata Motors reported sales of Rs 102,236 crore and a net profit of Rs 3,301 crore, a significant improvement from the same quarter in the previous fiscal when it registered sales of Rs 71,935 crore and a loss of Rs 4,951 crore.
