Between September 02 and September 07, 2024, as many as 23 startups from diverse sectors raised over $235 million in funding from investors.
These sectors include D2C, Watertech, Sportstech, Ride-hailing, B2B, Fintech, Aviation, Healthcare, Traveltech, and Cleantech, among others.
Last week, Indian startups raised over $485 million in funding, with Quick Commerce unicorn Zepto raising $340 million alone.
Unlike merger and acquisition deals, which typically do not disclose financials, these funding rounds provide a glimpse into the sectors attracting growing investor interest.
High-value deals
A diverse range of sectors attracted investments during the week, with the ride-hailing sector leading the pack. Leading this sector was Rapido, which raised $200 million in funding. Proptech startup JUSTO Realfintech raised $7 million in a mix of debt and equity.
The list was followed by D2C sports nutrition retailer Nutrabay, Backpacker hostel chain The Hosteller, and Chemical recycling and sustainability startup RecommerceX, which collectively raised $12.6 million.
Nutrabay raised $5 million, The Hosteller raised $4 million, and RecommerceX raised $3.6 million.

Emerging startups
AI startup LiaPlus AI raised the smallest amount, securing $230,000 in a seed funding round. This was followed by apparel startup Slikk, which raised $300,000 in a pre-seed funding round, and B2B financial management startup Valyx, which secured $800,000 in a pre-seed funding round.
Mytek Innovations, an AI-based EPC and manufacturing marketplace, raised $710,000 in debt round, while sportstech startup Spolto received $1 million in a seed funding round.
Watertech startup Boson Whitewater and fitness startup TruNativ both raised $1.2 million in funding from Zerodha's Rainmatter. Fashion startup Theater followed closely, raising $1.5 million in a pre-Series A funding round. Fabless semiconductor design startup BigEndian Semiconductors and ed-fintech startup Invest4Edu both raised $3 million in seed funding rounds, while healthcare startup Global Care also secured $3 million in a Series A funding round.
Meanwhile, D2C kids' innerwear brand Plan B, Fleet management services startup Carrum, Cleantech startup ReCircle, Social networking platform 0xPPL, Xolopak India, and Nautical Wings Aerospace kept the funding figures under wraps.
Merger and acquisition highlights
360 ONE-backed hearing care provider Hearzap acquired a majority stake in Speech and Hearing Care Pvt. Ltd., a renowned player in the Bihar and Jharkhand regions.
Yatra Online acquired corporate travel specialist Globe All India Services (Globe Travels) for over $15 million.
